How is Stamp Duty Calculated — Ready Reckoner Rate

Stamp duty is calculated on the higher of the actual transaction price or the government’s Ready Reckoner (RR) rate for that area. The RR rate is the minimum government-assessed value of property in each locality, updated annually.
